Car Carriers Myths

So it’s been a while since our last blog post and there’s a reason for that but that’s a story for another time for now let’s talk about some myths associated with the car carrier industry.

1.The first myth people always think of is that Car transport is way too expensive.

Now why this might be a strange to say when you see pricing for moving a vehicle across S.A however when you actually work it out and factor in things like food, accommodation, fuel and potential wear and tear on your vehicle it actually becomes more economical to use a car carrier service like us (Auto Carriers) for example.

2.Coming in second we have My car will get damaged during transport

So this one is a bit of a grey area because there are some factors that are indeed out of car carriers control like dangerous weather conditions, protests and road works all of these can potentially damage a vehicle however to reduce the chance of this we at Auto Carriers have protocols in place and also offer insurance to add some peach of mind to our customers.

3.In third we have Wouldn’t it be faster to drive my car myself?

Now we at Auto Carriers understand the argument with this one however we would like to say that yes you very well could drive it yourself however think of the risks. For you to get to a destination faster than us you would have to drive over the speed limits and this increases the chance of an accident as well as additional wear and tear on your vehicle.

4.Number 4 is an interesting one because people think only luxury and high value cars need carrier transport.

So yes while having a carrier loaded full of super cars looks amazing driving around it’s not the norm you see a car carrier truck is meant to transport all types of vehicles like sedans, SUVs even your friendly neighbourhood Taxi’s we at Auto carriers are more than capable of moving all types of vehicles for you.

I can’t transport my car if it’s not running.

Now this is a unique one because we at Auto carriers do not transport non-runners however that doesn’t mean that there aren’t people who do there are quite a few companies that specialize in moving specifically non-runner vehicles.

6.Coming in at number 6 people always ask if carrier transport is only for Long distance.

Now this one is a common misconception I mean most people would assume you can only move a vehicle across provinces but that’s not the case while yes normally this is how it would work you are more than welcome to move vehicles from Durban to PMB for example. You aren’t limited to only long distances.

7.Do I have to be there to hand over and or pick up my vehicle?

So this one is also pretty common as well. So when it comes to picking up the vehicle or the handover from you to us (Auto carriers). You can communicate with us and assign someone to do the handover and the collection on behalf of you.

All carriers are the same.

Now this one we have to clear the air because no we are not all the same. Some of us do more than others and we at Auto carriers are one of the best carriers in S.A with highly trained drivers and specific procedures in place to make sure transporting with us is as easy as can be.

9.Transporting with a carrier takes too long.

Normally this is a fair argument however it depends on the transport and route that’s being taken but normally some companies have certain plans where it can be arranged to transport something faster so it really depends on the company and service you use.

10.My personal items can’t be in my car when I transport it.

No! from us at Auto Carriers we don’t allow you to leave your personal items in your vehicle.
